Description

Overview of the programme and majors:

2nd cycle studies in Administration last 2 years (4 semesters). Upon completion of the programme, students are awarded a master’s degree in Administration. The curriculum includes courses in administrative court proceedings, administrative law, interpretation of administrative law, and administrative supervision.  Graduates of 2nd cycle studies in Administration posses extensive knowledge in administrative science, administrative law, and administrative proceedings.

The aim of the studies is to equip graduates with knowledge and skills in team management, organisation, and leadership. This is ensured by the following courses: Human Resource Management, Employment Relationships in Administration and Organisational Sociology as well as Social Policy and Social Insurance.

Classes in tax law, trade law, competition law, and criminal fiscal law are designed to help graduates become highly valued employees of government offices and financial institutions, and provide them with the necessary skills to start their own businesses.

The programme also includes classes on the functioning of institutions in Poland and the European Union (The State’s Political System, European Law, Comparative Constitutional Law of EU Member States), workshops on preparing projects for the European Union and lectures on legal conditions of the functioning of structural funds. As a result, graduates are able to freely operate within the European legal space. They are trained to manage projects and make the right decisions when applying for EU funds and cooperating with foreign entities.

The programme also features courses on human rights, constitutional law of European countries, and political and administrative doctrines.  Moreover, in the course of studies, students may choose subjects dedicated to specialised issues in broadly understood administration.

Career prospects:

Graduates of two year full-time studies receive a master’s degree in Administration and are prepared both academically and vocationally to exercise the profession of an administration employee on an executive level and to be a team leader. They are also prepared to carry out administrative functions on both self-government and state government levels as well as in various public institutions. Administration graduates are able to apply advanced knowledge of administrative law, budgeting, management, and functioning of institutions in Poland and the European Union (EU). They are ready to perform managerial functions in civil service and to perform independent work in government administration institutions, self-government bodies, administrative services of economic entities, non-governmental institutions, special administration, private administration, cultural institutions, bodies of political parties, national institutions as well as companies cooperating with EU member states and their bodies. They are equipped with knowledge enabling them to solve problems independently, organise and manage teams, make decisions while respecting human rights and ethical and legal principles, present creative initiatives, and develop and implement programmes. They are accustomed to systematic learning and professional development. Graduates are prepared to carry out research projects and undertake 3rd cycle studies (doctoral studies).
