Admissions criteria for candidates with "new" Polish maturity exam (issued after 2005)

For candidates with NEW MATURA EXAM

Admission to studies is based on secondary school-leaving grades – the results of the written part of Matura exam in the field of mathematics and natural sciences are taken into consideration: biology, chemistry, mathematics, physics (physics with astronomy).

Two subjects (A and B) with the highest percentage result of the Matura exam are selected among them (*).

In the case when the secondary school-leaving certificate contains a result in only one subject in the field of mathematics and natural sciences, the candidate receives 0 points in the second subject.

Subject B

(basic or advanced level)*

)* - basic level result multiplied x 0.5;

Method of calculating points:

W = 0,5 (A* + B*)

where:

W – candidate’s final result;

A – result in subject A;

A – result in subject B;

The more favourable result for the candidate is taken into consideration.

A study candidate is obliged to submit a relevant medical certificate confirming the lack of medical contraindications to take up studies in this degree programme.

Admissions criteria for candidates with "old" Polish maturity exam (issued before 2005)

For candidates with OLD MATURA EXAM (before 2005)

Admission based on secondary school diploma grades includes the following subjects taken in the Matura exam:

  • In the written part: one subject in the field of mathematical and natural sciences: biology, chemistry, mathematics, physics or modern foreign language;
  • In the oral part: one subject in the field of mathematical and natural sciences: biology, chemistry, mathematics, physics.

In both parts this may be the same subject.

The sum of grades (sum) in the chosen subjects is calculated. If a subject in the field of mathematics and natural sciences was taken, specified for the degree programme, the obtained grade is increased by 0.5 point.

The maximum sum may amount to 12.5.

The score which is the basis for admission is calculated according to the following formula:

L = 8 x Sum                         (Max. 100 points)

A study candidate is obliged to submit a relevant medical certificate confirming the lack of medical contraindications to take up studies in this degree programme.
