Characteristics of the programme:
Computer Assisted Translation and Translation for Specific Purposes in French is a supplementary Master's degree programme addressed to candidates who want to acquire high linguistic and translation skills. The studies combine the improvement of the command of French language, including languages for specific purposes, with deepening the knowledge and developing practical skills in the field of Translation Studies. The major is completed by a seminar where students prepare a MA thesis on a subject of their choice in the field of linguistics or literature. Moreover, the studies allow students to improve their knowledge of another Romance language as well as skills of using modern technologies in a professional environment.

The candidates who have a degree diploma in other programmes (majors) than language studies are additionally obliged to attend an interview (in Polish) concerning the presentation of research plans related to the future MA thesis of the candidate in linguistics or literary studies.
The maximum number of points to obtain in the interview is: 30. To achieve a positive result of the interview, the candidate must obtain at least 15 points.
The candidates who successfully pass the interview, i.e. obtain at least 15 points, will be admitted to studies based on the average of the final grade in the diploma and positive exam grade in French.
For candidates with a diploma in language studies with a major in Romance Studies or French – admission is decided by the place on the ranking list based on the degree diploma grades.
For candidates with a degree diploma in other degree programmes (majors) than language studies – admission is decided by the place on the ranking list created on the basis of the average final grade on the diploma and positive exam grade in French.
The final result calculation is based on:
a) final grade on the diploma,
b) positive exam grade in French.
The final result is the sum of ½ of the grade mentioned in a) and b).
