Characteristics of the degree programme and the offered majors:
Italian and English as Applied Languages: Business Italian and English and Translation Studies are complementary Master’s degree studies addressed to people who plan to work professionally with Italian and English. The student’s language competencies are improved within the practical Italian and English study modules. The curriculum includes classes in linguistics and literary studies. The extensive set of translation subjects include classes increasing student’s practical skills regarding translating specialist text in both languages. Particular emphasis is put on preparing the student for work which requires knowledge of foreign language for business purposes, both Italian and English.
Professional prospects (graduate profile):
• work in Polish companies cooperating with foreign partners;
• work in foreign companies and their representatives in Poland;
• work in translation agencies;
• work in institutions and organisations providing tourist services;
• work in culture and research institutions;

Candidate applying for admission has knowledge, skills, and social competencies necessary to take up education at 2nd cycle studies in this degree programme and major, and in particular
The candidates who have a degree diploma in other programmes (majors) than language studies are additionally obliged to attend an interview (in Polish) concerning the presentation of research plans related to the future MA thesis of the candidate in linguistics or literary studies.
The maximum number of points to obtain in the interview is: 30. To achieve a positive result of the interview, the candidate must obtain at least 15 points.
The candidates who successfully pass the interview, i.e. obtain at least 15 points, will be admitted to studies based on the average of the final grade in the diploma and positive exam grades in English and Italian.
For candidates with a diploma in language studies with a major in Applied Italian and English – admission is decided by the place on the ranking list based on the degree diploma grades.
For candidates with a diploma in language studies with a major in Italian Studies or Italian language – admission is decided by the place on the ranking list created on the basis of the average of the final grade on the diploma and positive exam grade in English.
For candidates with a diploma in language studies with a major in English Studies or English language – admission is decided by the place on the ranking list created on the basis of the average of the final grade on the diploma and positive exam grade in Italian.
For candidates with a degree diploma in other degree programmes (majors) than language studies – admission is decided by the place on the ranking list created on the basis of the average of the final grade on the diploma and positive exam grades in English and Italian.
